A new track from Casey Veggies produced by Lee Bannon.

The Game featuring Lifestyle “Hit The J” music video

From the California Republic mixtape.

Queens Of The Stone Age “I Appear Missing” music video

Stoner rockers Queens Of The Stone Age have posted a new video.  The song comes from …Like Clockwork, which will be available on June 4, 2013.  While you’re at it, check out the faster track “My God Is The Sun,” which I previously posted a live recording for:

Kylesa “We’re Taking This”

Southern sludge rockers Kylesa have a new album coming out fresh on the heels of last year’s rarities compilation.  “We’re Taking This” is a brand new track from this new album, which is titled Ultraviolet.  Look for the release via Season Of Mist on May 24, 2013.

ASG “Castlestorm”

North Carolina southern rockers ASG have released a new track. “Castlestorm” comes from the band’s fourth album Blood Drive, which will be available from Relapse Records on May 28, 2013.  I managed to see these guys live at The Fest in Gainesville, FL several years back and they were unstoppable.

Here’s another track (“Avalanche”) from Blood Drive:

Chance The Rapper “Smoke Again” music video

It’s amazing that there’s so much good music coming from Chicago right now.  Here’s another one.  This track feels good, but I couldn’t tell if this guy could actually rap, so I dug around. That’s where I found this other video:

Works for me.  I love the “Juice” chorus.  It feels so theatrical and unlike other rap I’ve heard.

Anyway, “Smoke Again” comes from the Acid Rap mixtape, which should be made available today.  “Juice” comes from the #10Day mixtape, which is free over here.

JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound “Howl”

Chicago soul act JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound have released a new single and title track to their upcoming album.  The track is great, bringing soul music to another generation of listeners!  Howl will be available from Bloodshot Records on May 21, 2013.

Stoner rock legends (The) Melvins posted a stream of their new covers album over at Spin Magazine last week.  Check out their failed Super Bowl commercial theme that is “Black Betty.”  Everybody Loves Sausages comes out today via Ipecac Recordings.

Their / They’re / There “Their / They’re / Therapy”

Evan Weiss (Into It. Over It.), Mike Kinsella (Owen, Cap’n Jazz, Joan Of Arc, Owls, American Football), and Matthew Frank make mathy indie rock together in his deliciously pretentious band.  Yay Chicago!  Their self-titled EP is available now via Polyvinyl Records.

Matt And Kim “It’s Alright” music video

New York should be incredibly proud to claim the pop-synth duo that is Matt And Kim.  It’s amazing how far this guy and gal have come.  I remember playing a show with them in Houston back in 2006 to an audience of only 15 people.  Watching this video, you can see how hugely talented and confident they are.  Looking back, I’m not surprised that they passed on signing with my small indie record label.  Lightning is out now on Fader Label.

Weatherbox “Big News”

Weatherbox is an indie rock band from San Diego, CA.  They made this song that is pretty spot on.  “Big News” comes from the band’s upcoming split with Sainthood Reps, which will be available from Topshelf Records on May 7, 2013.

Ace Hood “On Right Now” music video

Florida-based rapper Ace Hood has posted a new music video.  “On Right Now” comes from Trials & Tribulations, which is coming on July 16, 2013.

Jay-Z “Open Letter”

NYC rapper and modern icon Jay-Z has posted a new track.  In it, he covers his recent visit to Cuba (which was investigated by members of Congress) and his role in the Brooklyn Nets.  It’s been a minute since Hov has posted a new track that resonates.  This one’s great.  Time to give us another album, Mr. Carter.  Oh, and there’s also this (the White House’s official response to Jay-Z’s Obama reference):

Yard Of Blondes “Monomoria” music video

Los Angeles indie rockers Yard Of Blondes have posted a grim new music video.  Keep on rocking those string bends.  “Monomoria” comes from Murderology, which is out now on High Desert Lo-Fi Records.

Styles P featuring Sheek Louch “Hater Love” music video

New York rappers Styles P and Sheek Louch got together for this track from Styles P’s upcoming album Float.  Pick it up from High Times Records on April 16, 2013.
